Fraud Alert: Beware of Phone Spoofing Scams
CODE Credit Union is alerting members to an increase in phone spoofing scams. Spoofing occurs when a fraudulent caller falsifies caller ID information to make it appear as though the call is coming from a trusted source — including CODE Credit Union.
If you receive a call that appears to be from CODE, please remember:
- CODE will never ask for your Online or Mobile Banking username, password, or secure login codes
- CODE will never request your account number
- CODE will never ask for personal information such as your Social Security number or mother’s maiden name
- CODE will never request debit or credit card numbers, PINs, CVV codes, or expiration dates
- CODE will never ask you to download software or click links to “fix” your device or account
If you receive a suspicious call, do not provide any information and do not feel pressured. Hang up immediately and contact CODE directly at (937) 222-8971.
