The Englewood branch is collecting new or gently used books for Project Read!

Project READ is a literacy coalition that has been working to improve literacy in the Dayton area for over 30 years. They are a volunteer organization that distributes books to churches, other non-profits, and schools to help with tutoring services and supply reading materials to those in need. Literacy creates the opportunity for individuals to develop marketable skills so they can provide for themselves and their families. Not only does the ability to read positively impact the life of each individual, but it has positive economic effects at the community level as well. Project READ distributed over 16,000 books in the Dayton Metro area last year, creating a big impact on our local area.

The Englewood Branch chose to collect cash donations as well as new and gently used books for Project READ. We are all bookworms and feel strongly that everyone should have a chance to experience the joy of sitting down with a good book, and a chance to learn and grow. We feel that Project READ has a positive influence on our local area and are excited for the opportunity to support such a good cause.
