Important Member Notification: Debit Card Fraud Alert

Over the past month, we’ve identified a pattern of debit card fraud attempts targeting our authorization system. Fraudsters have been randomly generating card numbers and flooding the system with thousands of transaction requests.

What’s Happening:

  • Most fraudulent transactions are being blocked by our fraud department.
  • However, due to the sheer volume of attempts, a few unauthorized transactions have been approved.

Your Information Is Safe

  • Our system has not been compromised.
  • Your personal information has not been accessed.
  • These fraudsters are guessing card numbers based on standard Visa/Mastercard formats and occasionally succeed by chance.

What We Are Doing:

  • We are working with our card processor to protect members against these attacks. We will share more information as it becomes available.

What You Can Do:

  1. Monitor Your Account Activity
    • Regularly check your transactions.
    • Report any unauthorized charges immediately by calling 937-222-8971 or visiting a CODE Credit Union branch.
    • We’ll assist with paperwork and issue a new debit card if needed.
  2. Respond to Fraud Alerts
    • If you receive a fraud notification via text or email, follow the instructions to block your card and request a replacement.

Your vigilance helps us protect your account. Thank you for being a valued member of CODE Credit Union.
